Air Vanuatu Urgently Rescheduling Flights
Air Vanuatu sincerely apologises to all guests that have been affected by the re-scheduled flights this weekend. All efforts are being made to ensure that guests can get home as soon as possible.
A mechanical fault on the airlines only Boeing 737 has meant that since Friday morning, the international flights were put on hold. The parts required to get the aircraft back on schedule have been sourced overseas and are being flown into Vanuatu this evening. The engineering team will then work as required until the aircraft is passed to safely operate again.
All possible measures are being taken by the airline to obtain new times to land in the affected airports to get guests home as soon as possible and minimize other flight schedules next week. The busy Christmas season has meant obtaining additional times into these busy airports is not easy.
It is currently estimated that flights will resume on Sunday. Guests on affected flights are asked to please regularly check updates online on our travel advisories page where information on re-scheduled flights will be provided and updated regularly.
