Announcing Espiritu Santo/Brisbane Direct Flights
Following months of preparation, Air Vanuatu has today officially launched the direct flights between Vanuatu’s Espiritu Santo Island and Brisbane Australia. These flights will operate weekly on Thursdays starting from the 8th June this year.
This service has been implemented via the partnership that Air Vanuatu has recently developed with Solomon Airlines. “This arrangement allows us to expand despite our current restricted aircraft fleet, and to open new routes and deliver more services.“ says acting Chief Executive Officer Mr Laloyer.
The Air Vanuatu operated service will allow close to 300 guests to be transported directly to and from Brisbane Australia each week to explore the beauty of Vanuatu’s northern islands. The Minister of Tourism, Trade, Commerce and Ni Vanuatu Business, Honourable Minister Matai Seremaiah Nawalu stated in his support of the National Airline’s announcement “Increasing aviation access to Vanuatu is critical to growing tourism and trade and the economic benefits they bring to our people.”
It is anticipated that the Vanuatu Tourism Office will play a key role in the important work of marketing this new service. “The new flights are a significant step towards making it easier for people to explore all of Vanuatu” States Chief Executive Officer Mrs Adela Aru.
Guests in Vanuatu wishing to book direct flights can do so on www.airvanuatu.com from early May and are encouraged to call +678 23838 for more information.
